EOL coming soon for BBOS and BB10 users

Support for BB10 and BBOS Customers coming to an End Soon

Well, Its time to say Good bye to BB10 and BBOS. By the end of 2019 both BB10 and BBOS Customers will not get support from BlackBerry. 


In the INSIDE BlackBerry : The Official BlackBerry Blog posted in December 2017 it says that: 

⇨ While we are pleased to announce continuing support for BB10 and BBOS users for at least another two years, current device owners should be aware that we will be closing some ancillary services such as the BlackBerry World app store (12/31/2019), the BlackBerry Travel site (February 2018), and the Playbook video calling service (March 2018). Customers who upgrade to a new KeyOne or Motion won’t miss a beat as they’ll have immediate access to the rich universe of apps in the Google Play store without compromising on either security or their desire for a physical keyboard.


Though actual End of Life for BB10 and BBOS in terms of Software support came earlier though.

BlackBerry will be closing some services like: 

  • BlackBerry App store🙁 by 12/31/2019. 
  • BlackBerry Travel by February 2018.
  • BlackBerry PlayBook video calling service by March 2018.
  • ⇨ BlackBerry App World will be moving to free-only store front. It means all free apps will be available and all purchasing mechanism will be disabled.


BlackBerry says that they are rewarding the loyality of its customers by committing to provide with at-least 2 full years of additional support for BB10 and 2 full year support to BlackBerry network access to BBOS devices ending by December 2019.

Google Play Store for BlackBerry 10

Google Play Store for BlackBerry 10  'Play Store 10' aka BBPlay10 By bbtalkz:  Since we all know that BlackBerry 10 OS supports installing of android apps directly and users can install android .apk files on their BlackBerry Smartphones. BlackBerry released Amazon Appstore for BlackBerry 10 users in OS version 10.3.X........ So it was a  good step by BlackBerry to reduce app gap in BB10 devices but as we know that Amazon Appstore don't have too many apps as compared to Google Play.  Something was still missing but thanks to cobalt232   for developing this app which is named as "Play Store 10".
